Dear Carolina Community,
It is with great honor that I introduce Blake Hauser as the new executive director of the Eve Carson Scholarship. After years of dedication to the scholarship’s selection process as the director of scholars programs, Blake has developed not only as a leader but also as a major proponent of the Carolina Way.
With this announcement comes the opportunity to apply to work as a director on the Executive Committee of the Eve Carson Scholarship. We are so looking forward to the future of the scholarship and to assembling a team that will carry on the legacy of Eve Carson into this coming year. This incredible opportunity to work with such a diverse, passionate group of people has most certainly been the most meaningful experience I have had at Carolina, and I strongly encourage those interested to apply.
Alongside the opportunity to work on the committee, rising junior and senior applicants may consider applying to sit on the selection committee itself as student representatives. These roles can be completed in tandem with a directorship, but have the distinct role of voicing the student body when it comes to selecting next year’s Eve Carson scholars.
Apply for next year’s executive committee or selection committee!
Executive committee applications are welcomed through Sunday, March 29 and 11:59 p.m.

Why does Blake do what she does? Here’s what she said:
“Carolina has so many talented students, and I consider it a privilege to get to interact with a few of them and reward their spectacular accomplishments. I love being a part of an organization that brings together such passionate and driven individuals and then empowers these students to pursue their passions. Eve Carson described ideal Carolina students as ‘Seeking to be great, but always remembering that we must be good.’ I believe that the Eve Carson Scholarship honors that balance between achieving greatness and being a force for good in the campus community, and I am proud to serve on its Executive Committee.”
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent as the executive director for this outstanding organization. In the past year, I have not only witnessed three incredible Tar Heels being celebrated and empowered by this scholarship, but I have also watched the scholarship continue its role as a force for good on the campus as a whole. I am thrilled to see the ways in which the new executive committee will propel scholarship as Eve’s legacy continues to resonate into future of this incredible university.
In the Carolina Way,
