What is the Eve Carson Scholarship?
The Eve Carson Scholarship targets rising-seniors demonstrating transformative passion, service, leadership and growth. A living legacy of former Student Body President Eve Carson, the scholarship fulfills Eve’s vision for a student-run merit scholarship awarded to students, by students. The Scholarship exists to recognize students who have grown significantly in their time at UNC – providing support for Scholars’ expenses during senior year, as well as funding for a transformative summer experience.

Eligibility
Juniors at UNC-Chapel Hill with at least a 3.0 GPA and 48 hours of credit. A student already receiving another a full, four-year, merit-based scholarship is not eligible to apply. A full scholarship is one that covers at least tuition, fees, room, and board. Students receiving partial merit scholarships or need-based aid are still eligible to apply.

What We're Looking For
The four pillars of the Eve Carson Scholarship are leadership, character, service, and transformative growth. Applicants should have a passion that they are committed to and enthusiastic about. Our hope is that you are able to express your dedication, experience, and beliefs regarding these pillars in your application.
FAQs
How much is the award?
The award funds a summer experience (up to $5,000) and provides $15,000 towards tuition for the scholar’s senior year.
Are transfer students eligible?
Transfer students must have completed 48 credit-hours, including their current semester’s credit-hours, at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Do I have to have my summer experience planned?
No, you don’t need to have your summer experience planned. Finalists will be expected to discuss a general idea of their potential summer plans. However, we expect to help you develop your summer experience if you are chosen to be an Eve Carson Scholar.
I’m planning to study abroad my senior year, can I still apply?
Yes, you can still apply! We strongly prefer students do not study abroad, however.
I’m planning to graduate early, can I still apply?
Students must be spend two full semesters at UNC during their senior year and graduate in May of the next year to be eligible for the scholarship.
Am I eligible?
Recipients of the Morehead-Cain (either fully funded or not) Robertson, Williamson, Fred Morrison, Columbus Morrison, Peachtree, Gant, Welsh, Innovation, Honors Carolina, and Pearl Cavin (and similar) Scholarships are not eligible.
Also included in this list are the out-of-state versions of the Johnston, Pogue and various Carolina Scholarships.
Finalists for the award will be asked to disclose information regarding any need or merit-based aid they are currently receiving.
